Ark Aid Street Mission is seeking a dynamic, visionary, collaborative, strategic leader and community builder who is passionate about Jesus Christ for the position of Executive Director.
Ark Aid Street Mission is a charitable not for profit located in London, Ontario. It is a place of connection where people experience the love of Christ and grow to live productive and joyful lives. The Ark is found in the heart of London’s Old East Village. Since 1984 the Ark’s mission objective is to aid neighbours in need. We create tools and services to help people get back on their feet and experience more productive and more joyful lives.
The Executive Director is responsible for the leadership and management of the organization according to the strategic directions identified by the Board of Directors. He/She will provide leadership direction and guidance to all mission operations. The Executive Director is responsible for executing the vision, mission, and values of Ark Aid Street Mission and will demonstrate competence in the following areas:
• Vision casting and operational leadership
• Planning, organization, decision making and problem-solving
• Innovative community development
• Revenue growth, fund and resource development
• Development of external relationships
• Effective communications
• Volunteer recruitment and development
• Providing pastoral leadership, discipleship and care
• Fostering an environment of trust and ethical behaviour
The ideal candidate will possess:
• Experience with individuals experiencing homelessness or living in poverty, dealing with addictions and/or mental health issues and have a knowledge of and respect for their reality
• Passion for advocacy and social justice in a Christian context
• Commitment to working within the philosophy and values of a Christian faith-based organization
• Knowledge of fund development and volunteer management
• Values-based, collaborative interpersonal and group leadership skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills for diverse audiences
• Visioning and strategic thinking skills
• Proven problem solving and decision-making abilities
• Experience in financial and risk management
• An ability to implement policy and procedures and evaluate outcomes
• Post-secondary education in social work, theology or related discipline and supervisory or management experience would be an asset
